~BOOK 4 IN THE FROST CHRONICLES~

Lia Weaver is a fugitive. Her family's farm has been confiscated by Farther soldiers, her sister has been reassigned to a new family in the village, and her official status is "missing." Now, she and a band of fugitive followers must make their home in the harsh wilderness of the Frost. Food is scarce, and hope is scarcer still as Lia tries to find information about the whereabouts of her missing friends. She is determined to rescue them, but when a surprising ally steps forth with a offer that will both return her friends and expel the Farthers from the Frost in exchange for something very precious, Lia must make a choice.

Ive been constantly checking to see when this would be out and was really excited to see it came out! the series itself id rate as 4 stars. This is another solid book in the series. My only issue whith this book/series is when you have a triangle, especially one where Guy# 1, Gabe, is the main interest in the initial books, you get attached to that character and start rooting for him. Then Guy# 2 emerges and the next book is all about him and Guy# 1 is not really around. Now, im like hey, Guy#2, Adam, is pretty great. Then you get to book 3 and Gabe is back and Adam is gone. Lia is torn-possibly loves both...this type of triangle IMO is the worst. I now love both of these guys, clearly Lia cant figure out who she wants either and ultimately, whoever she picks, it's no longer satisfying...There's also not much dialogue between her and gabe or even between her Adam about what she feels for them and vice versa which is frustrating. Beyond the love story aspect, it's nice to see her brother and sister get more involved and take a more active role. Korr plays a big part in how the story shapes up, and while the Anna and Korr thing is mentioned, id love to see a novella on what happened with them from the 1st book till now-maybe with alternating POVs. I think that'd be pretty interesting. All in all, if you liked the other books in the series you will like this one as well. It's just a bit weaker than the others, IMO.

Bluewing The Frost Chronicles Book 4 eBook Kate Avery Ellison Reviews

I enjoyed the complete Frost Chronicles. When you read the last book, you had no doubt it was the last book in the series. The characters were compelling and gently pulled me in as I read and came to love each one. At times it was difficult to know which little romance I wanted to hope would develop more, although the romance was just a little extra endearing part of the story. The mission and strength of the characters was in themselves enough to pull you back for more.
Wow...i mean Ann...Adam...Gabe...Korr...Juniper...just so shocking and every character played an amazing part. So many things were revealed and the ending....the ending of this is quite something. It left me wanting more. The beginning may have been slow but it was magnificent when the main action started. The deaths had me heart broken and the secrets revealed left me thinking how on earth did Kate think of these?! This book was amazingly entertaining and i didn't regret reading it. I cannot wait until i read the next book!
I absolutely adored this series until Lia fell in love with Adam over Gabe '( I am a very loyal person and ever since Gabe was introduced in the beginning of the story and Lia fell madly in love with him, I fell in love with him too! He was the first hero, not Adam! I kept rooting for Gabe and was so disappointed that she fell in love with and chose Adam instead. I felt betrayed and I couldn't even finish the book after that--I skipped to the end to cautiously read who she chose and then after that, I lost all desire to even finish this series. Sad to say, I'm not even going to purchase the last book to this set '(
This book is beyond the pale for scifi/fantasy. You have your jailbreaks, heartbreaks, travel, entertainment, the monster mash party. It just has everything a book can give. No marking time on this book ....action packed from beginning to end. I thought the next book was gonna be a wind down but with a cliffhanger it will be fretting time until the cliffhanger concludes. Every time I thought what was gonna happen next, the author pulled the rug out from under me again. Since I read Michael J. Sullivan's series, I am used to twists and turns. But this book has lollapaloozas....the main gang of independent writers better get ready as this author has come to the dance ready to rock. In other words, this is a dang fine read...shu
** spoiler alert ** I considered giving this book a lower rating, but the story was sound at least, and moved forward logically and was generally well written and interesting, so I felt it deserved kudos for that, at least. However, there were a few elements in particular that really bothered me. I get the feeling the climax was supposed to be a big surprise. It wasn't to me; I figured out it was going to go that way when Ivy tried to convince Lia that they could make friends with the Watchers. So their involvement was expected.
The next thing that really bothered me was the reappearance of the love triangle in a major way. Nothing irks me more than a heroine who makes protestations of love to two men almost simultaneously. Yes, they are both men with good and bad points, but please, can we have a clear tendency one way and leave it at that for good?
But the main thing I had problems with was the use of shock tactics. Sure, why not have someone declare their feelings in a way that's going to bring happiness to a pitiable character and then kill that person off? Bring happiness only to shatter it almost instantaneously. Not only that, I didn't think it was done convincingly. I find it hard to believe that any long term resident of the Frost conveniently forgets to have snow blossoms on them just at the particular time they're going to meet a Watcher that kills them. Fancy that. Basing a callous death on an unlikely coincidence does not make for a convincing plot development. It reminded me of the many frustrations I experienced when reading the poorly written Allegiant, which swore me off the Divergent trilogy entirely. These developments in Bluewing may be the end of my interest in the Frost Chronicles, because I don't want to become emotionally involved in something if this is the kind of development I can expect in the future.
